Chapter 02 - The Science of Sound

The following is a sample paragraph from The Sound Effects Bible.

Understanding How Sound Works

Our ears are a very sensitive instrument. They help us communicate, both in speaking and in listening. They give us a sense of direction. And the inner drum even helps with our sense of balance.

The principle of sound is simple. Changes in atmospheric pressure cause air molecules to move. Our ears register this movement as sound. Simple enough? But wait! There’s more!
