First Few Days
I have spent my first few days, at the Chop Shop, sitting in on meetings with Mark Ludmer of RØDE Microphones. DCS is going to be producing the next semester of RØDE University and I am going to get to help work on the videos. It was a lot of fun to get a run down and play with all the mics. I also learned, in the last few days, that you should always open doors quickly and fully because certain co-workers around the studio like to hide behind them and jump out; I still haven't found a way to combat their bursting into the room screaming, or hiding around corners. Day One...
So, welcome. My first day I didn't receive a security card with INTERN written on it in large type or anything else identifying my lowly position so I am totally free to strut around here like I own the place. Well it isn't really a strut more like a sashay but you get the picture. The day mostly consisted of getting familiar with the facilities and going through the DCS workers manual. It turns out I have to "show up on time" and not walk around in "bare feet"; I don't know if I will be able to handle all these "rules". It wasn't all work though, I totally schooled Ric in the company four square match at lunch. It should be an awesome few months.
