Mr. Big Shot

Last week was full of star studded events. First Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King, stopped by to help us out with something really creepy and crawly that we are working on. He just magically appeared after Ric smashed a melon on the floor of the Foley room. I also got to go to the premiere of Stick It In Detroit, a film Ric did the sound for. It was a funny film and cool to see a well produced independent film made by people from Detroit and about Detroit. It really gave me a better feel of the city. All in all it was a pretty good week. Jon the Intern

Be Ready

So the Chop Shop has been working on RØDE university's 2nd semester. I have been on set as mixer and helping with the post. While we were on set for the first episode several A-10s and C130s flew over. Obviously this was bad for dialog but made for some great recordings. That just goes to show you should always have your recorder with you and ready to go (which Ric was more then willing to point out to me after I missed the first fly over). The plane recordings should be up on www.soundeffectsbible.com sometime this week if you want to download them; be sure to check out www.rodeuniversity.com.

YogaToes

Today I discovered a product that will change my life... YogaToes! It truly is America's favorite treat for fabulous feet! I sat in on a VO session for a commercial about YogaToes. Be sure to keep your eyes open for this! I also got to do an edit on the spot which was fun. Later I sat in on an ADR session for a short film, and cut BGs for it. It has been a great first couple of weeks.
